Our faculty, staff and students lead projects around the globe that help assure the long-term survival of key ecosystems, species, and the people and communities in environments that are continuously evolving. We work at scales from microscopic to global. We are making important contributions in research, management, policy and education.
We do groundbreaking scientific research, and care deeply about the application of that new knowledge to the sustainability of our natural world and our built environment. We strive to connect with people on the ground to meet real-time needs and provide solutions-oriented support.
Medina Aquarius Program
Our Medina Aquarius Program is dedicated to the study and preservation of marine ecosystems with the world's only undersea research laboratory, Aquarius Reef Base. Our scientists are at the cutting edge of research on coral reefs, ocean acidification, climate change, fisheries and overall ocean health.
Our work couldn't be done as effectively without the collaboration of our many partners, locally and across the world. We work with other universities, NGOs, nonprofits, government organizations and even private citizens to ensure that the work being done to protect our planet is all-encompassing.
