VoLo Foundation Fellowship at EFRM

The VoLo Foundation Fellowship is an integral part of FIU’s Environmental Finance and Risk Management program.  The Fellowship consists of a one-year appointment at the university and is meant for rising leaders in the environmental finance space who have had an impact through their drive, creativity, and relationships with other rising leaders in the field.

Required Application Materials

  2. In a single PDF, combine the following materials:
    1. 1-page (single spaced) summary of applicant’s career goals related to Environmental Finance and how the Fellowship will advance that goal.
    2. Copy of applicant’s most important publication, or link to video of applicant’s most important speaking engagement. Only one publication or speaking engagement may be submitted.
    3. Work or research proposal (maximum of two pages, single spaced) describing the innovative, impactful work that the candidate proposed to do at FIU.
  3. Two letters of recommendation. Letters must be signed, dated and on letterhead. They may be submitted by the applicant as part of the complete PDF application, and/or by the recommender to: efrm@fiu.edu.
  • When will the program begin?

    The one-year fellowship is expected to begin within six months of selection, with a flexible start date based on the candidate’s plans. Ideally, each fellowship will run from June 1 to May 31 of the following year.

  • What is the stipend?

    The Fellowship stipend will be $58,000 per year.

  • Does the Fellowship come with any research or activities funding?

    A modest budget for travel, conferences, and research may be awarded depending on the candidate’s proposed scope of work.

  • Can I combine this with other employment or another fellowship?

    This fellowship cannot be used in combination with any other fellowship award or university appointment. The fellowship can be combined with other part-time employment. The expected time commitment is 30 hours per week, and while remote work is allowed, it is expected that the candidate will spend most of the Fellowship physically present at FIU.

  • Who is eligible?

    Eligible candidates must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree and two years experience in the environmental or financial field, or a Master’s degree in an environmental or business area.
